Ridge Hill funds may aid schools

The Journal News

Local governments use divide and conquer tactics in use to get controversial Forest City Ratner project approved. Only, this time it's Yonkers.

"We had fears long ago that they were going to pit groups against each other (to win support for the project)," said John Larkin, president of the Nepera Park-Grey Oaks Neighborhood Association. "They're painting this as the salvation of the schools, and it's not."

And, don't forget those government-based corporations that are running the show (Or is it corporation-based governments? We can never tell.):

Ridge Hill Development Corp., a quasi-governmental agency created by the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency to advance the project, could stand to gain $450 million in payments from Ratner through a proposed 77-year land lease if the City Council approves zoning changes that allow the project to happen.
