Dear Editors:

Deborah Kolben's article, "Nets Arena Foes Make Case to IOC," states: "The anti-arena group (Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn) insists, however, that it is not opposed to the city's Olympic bid." This is a factual error, and untrue.

DDDB has no position on the Olympics, but we are absolutely opposed to the bid put forth by NYC2012. The bid is way too expensive and it is fraught with controversy surrounding the proposed venues; it proposes venues like the Ratner arena and the West Side Stadium which are wholly unnecessary to winning the bid–in reality they are part of the bid's fatal flaws, condemning it to failure. So the question is this: Do Jay Kreigel, Dan Doctoroff and NYC2012 support the Olympics? Do they believe in their own bid? Because, with their bid, used to fast track highly controversial development proposals and ram shady real estate deals down our throats, the answer seems to be, "No."

The Daily News needs to run a correction to the factual error in this article.

Sincerely,

Daniel Goldstein
