Save the Underground Railroad in Brooklyn

From our friends on Duffield Street:
The City wants to demolish homes on Duffield Street in Downtown Brooklyn to build an underground parking lot. They want to help rich developers profit by destroying our history. We can’t let this happen! These homes are believed by many historians and experts to be safehouses on the Underground Railroad, and part of a huge anti-slavery network that existed here in Downtown Brooklyn. If we don’t fight now, the City will destroy the history of slavery and New Yorkers’ involvement in fighting for freedom. If we don’t fight now, our children will not be able to see this history.
