Though gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer talks tough on reforming quasi-governmental corporations like the Emipire State Develop Corporation — the state "agency" that is sponsoring the Atlantic Yards project — don't hold your breath on him taking a hard look at the Atlantic Yards project itself.
According to the Daily News, Spitzer's fortune comes from the NYC real estate empire built by his father, and the candidate has already expressed support for the project, calling the 8% scaleback to the original size a "reasonable compromise."
