Nets' sales pitch: lots of curves
NY Newsday
by Neil Best
"If you like us in New Jersey, you'll love us in Brooklyn," proclaims Nets' President Brett Yormark.
From the poaching of Petra Pope, to "influencer" parties, at which players and even Bruce Ratner will make appearances to sell season tickets, Yormark is aggressively marketing the Nets as a tri-state area team.
Is it working? So far, attendance is up, averaging:
16,413 after 14 games, up from 14,443 at this point last season. (There have been plenty of no-shows at times, notably opening night; figures refer to tickets distributed.)
